What each setting on the Permissions page does
#SettingDefaultWhat it does
1 Ask me before anyone connects Off Someone who enters your ID and session password does not get in straight away: they wait in Connected viewers with Accept and Cancel buttons and a countdown, and the window comes to the front so you notice. Someone using the unattended password still connects without asking, so a computer nobody is sitting at stays reachable. The request waits up to 90 seconds; doing nothing turns the person away. On a full install the question appears in the signed-in user's ScreenSharePRO window - if nobody is signed in to answer, the person is refused. Applies straight away, also to a session already running.
2 Let viewers use the keyboard On Viewers can type on this computer. Untick it and their typing is ignored - they can still watch. This is the starting value for every session; you can switch it for one session from the sessions dock.
3 Let viewers use the mouse On Viewers can move and click the mouse. Untick it for watch-only sessions. Like the keyboard, you can switch it for one session from the sessions dock.
4 Let viewers use the ScreenSharePro app On Viewers can click and type in ScreenSharePRO's own windows on this computer - for example to open Settings. Untick it so a viewer can never change your ScreenSharePRO settings or stop sharing.
5 Let viewers use the viewers panel On Viewers can use the floating sessions dock on this computer. Even when it is on, only you can disconnect a viewer or change their keyboard and mouse switches.
6 Let viewers record or take screenshots On Viewers can record the session to a video file and take screenshots. Untick it and their Record and Screenshot buttons are greyed out, and any recording already running stops. You are always told on screen when a viewer starts recording - that notice cannot be turned off.
7 Let viewers wake this computer Off Lets people who connect to this computer turn it on later, when it is asleep or switched off, from their Saved Hosts. When ticked, this computer's network (MAC) address is given to viewers; unticking it tells them to forget it. Works only on the same local network, and the computer's BIOS/network card must allow Wake-on-LAN. On a full install, changing it asks for administrator approval.
8 Only these viewer IDs may wake it Empty (any viewer who has connected) Limits waking to the viewer IDs you list - one 10-digit ID per line. Greyed out unless "Let viewers wake this computer" is ticked.

Good to know

Tip: For watch-only help - someone shows you a problem, you never touch their computer - the person sharing unticks Let viewers use the keyboard and Let viewers use the mouse.

Note: Keyboard and mouse here are the starting values for every session. While someone is connected you can switch them for that session only, from the sessions dock - see Manage who is connected.
