Fullscreen, screen size and resolution
Fit the remote screen to your window or see it pixel for pixel, go fullscreen, and change the remote computer's resolution for a sharper picture.
Fit to window or original size
- View options (the little arrow next to Original size / Fit screen): Fit to window scales the remote screen to your window; Original size (1:1) shows it pixel for pixel, with scroll bars; Keep aspect ratio (on by default) avoids stretching the picture - turn it off to fill the window.
- Quality - see Picture quality.
- Remote - see Lock, restart or shut down.
- Fit to window (the default) is best for a quick look: the whole screen is visible. Text may be small if the remote screen is larger than your window.
- Original size (1:1) gives the sharpest text. Move the pointer near the right or bottom edge to show the scroll bars, and drag them to look around.
- Keep aspect ratio is remembered for next time.
Fullscreen
- Click Fullscreen on the toolbar. The remote screen fills the monitor this window is on, taskbar included.
- To get the toolbar back, push the pointer to the top edge of the screen.
- Click Exit fullscreen to return to the window. (Esc goes to the remote computer, so it does not leave fullscreen.)
Note: If you click another window while in fullscreen, an amber frame appears with "Click the remote screen to control it — typing now goes to this PC". Click the remote screen to carry on.
Change the remote resolution
Resolution lists the display modes the remote computer supports, with the current one ticked. When the picture is being shrunk to fit your window, the first entry, Match window — W × H (sharpest), picks the largest mode that fits - the quickest way to crisp text.
- The change is temporary: the remote computer goes back to its own resolution when the last viewer disconnects.
- It needs keyboard control. If the person sharing has turned that off, you see "Resolution not changed" with the reason.
