Getting started

Install ScreenSharePRO

Download and install ScreenSharePRO on Windows - just for you or for everyone on the computer - plus silent installation for IT and how to uninstall.

What you need

  • Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) or Windows 11, 64-bit.
  • About 200 MB of free disk space.
  • An internet connection.

Install

  1. Go to the downloads page and download the Installer (EXE).
  2. Open the downloaded file.
  3. Choose who to install it for (see below), and the options you want.
  4. Click Accept. With "Everyone on this PC" Windows asks for administrator permission first.
  5. When it says "ScreenSharePro has been installed successfully", ScreenSharePRO opens and a short guided tour starts.
The setup wizard.
  1. Only me (the default) - no administrator permission needed. Others can connect to this computer while you are signed in.
  2. Everyone on this PC - adds viewers seeing Windows security prompts and the lock screen, control of administrator windows, and unattended access. Windows asks for administrator permission. See Limited control and full control.
  3. Where to install (only for Only me). The default is fine.
  4. Launch ScreenSharePro when finished (ticked); Create a ScreenSharePro shortcut on the desktop (unticked unless you already had one); Send the installation log to the admin for support (recommended) - if setup has a problem, the log helps us fix it; it may include your computer name, user name and file paths.
  5. By clicking Accept you agree to the licence agreement - click the link to read it.

Tip: Not sure which to choose? Pick Only me. You can switch to full control later from inside ScreenSharePRO with one administrator approval - your ID and settings stay the same.

Note: If a newer or equal version is already installed for everyone, setup simply opens it. If an older one is, setup offers "Update now".

For IT: silent and mass deployment

Use the Enterprise (MSI) from the downloads page with your deployment tool. It installs for everyone and needs the Microsoft .NET 8 Desktop Runtime to be installed already.

Command What it does
msiexec /i ScreenSharePro_Setup_x64.msi /qn Silent install for all users.
msiexec /i ScreenSharePro_Setup_x64.msi DESKTOPSHORTCUT=1 Also create a desktop shortcut (off by default).
msiexec /i ScreenSharePro_Setup_x64.msi INSTALLFOLDER="D:\Apps\ScreenSharePro" Install to another folder.
msiexec /x ScreenSharePro_Setup_x64.msi REMOVEDATA=1 Uninstall and also delete settings and logs for all users (the computer's ID is kept).
IGNOREPENDINGREBOOT=1 Install although Windows has a restart pending from an earlier update (normally setup refuses until you restart).

The Installer (EXE) can also run silently: ScreenSharePro_Setup_x64.exe /quiet installs for the current user when not elevated, and for everyone when run elevated or as SYSTEM (for example from Intune). Add SendInstallLog=0 not to send the installation log, or set the environment variable SCREENSHAREPRO_NO_TELEMETRY=1.

Uninstall

  1. Open Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
  2. Find ScreenSharePro, click the three dots and choose Uninstall.
  3. Choose whether to remove your settings too, then click Uninstall.
Uninstalling.
  1. Also remove ScreenSharePro settings and logs - unticked by default. Leave it unticked if you plan to reinstall: your settings, saved computers and unattended access come back. The computer's ID is always kept.
  2. Uninstall - removes ScreenSharePRO. A short feedback page may open in your browser afterwards - it is optional.
