Saved computers and Quick connect
Save the computers you use often, give them names, connect with one click from Quick connect or the tray, and remove them.
Save and name a computer
- Type the computer's ID into the REMOTE COMPUTER card (or pick it from the list).
- Click the pencil next to the ID box.
- Type a name you will recognise, such as "Office PC", and click Save host.
- The ID cannot be changed - a different ID is a different computer.
- The name. Leave it empty to show just the ID.
A computer you connect to is also added to your saved computers automatically.
Quick connect
Computers saved with a remembered password appear as tiles under QUICK CONNECT in the main window. The dot shows whether a computer is online (green) or offline (grey); the blue button connects with one click; double-clicking a tile does the same. Show all lists them all; Manage… opens Saved Hosts.
Note: To appear in Quick connect, connect once with Remember password for this host ticked. If the computer's password changes later, its tile shows an error - connect once with the new password.
Saved Hosts
Click Saved Hosts in the sidebar for the full list - including computers without a saved password.
- Search by name, ID or network (MAC) address. Spaces and dashes are ignored; Esc clears the search.
- Online (green) or offline (grey). Refreshed every 30 seconds. No dot means the owner hides their status.
- "password saved" - click its × to forget the password but keep the computer.
- Wake - turns the computer on over the local network. Only shown for computers that allow it; see Wake a computer.
- Connect - with the saved password, or you are asked for one.
- Rename - edit the name in place; Enter saves, Esc cancels.
- Remove the computer from your saved list (asks first).
Changes in Saved Hosts apply immediately - there is no Save button. Double-click a row to connect.
Connect from the tray
- Show - opens the main window (double-clicking the icon does the same).
- Connect to - every saved computer, with its online dot. Pick one to connect.
- Exit - closes the ScreenSharePRO app. With the per-user install this also stops sharing. With the full install the background service may keep this computer reachable while you stay signed in - to be sure nobody can connect, make a new password before you exit, or sign out of Windows.
