Copy, paste and file transfer
Copy text, images and files on one computer and paste them on the other - in both directions - and follow transfers in the Transfers panel.
ScreenSharePRO shares the clipboard between the two computers. That one feature covers text, images and files: there is no separate upload dialog - you copy, then paste.
Send a file to the remote computer
- On your computer, select the files or folders in File Explorer and press Ctrl+C (or right-click → Copy).
- Click into the remote screen and open the folder where the files should go.
- Press Ctrl+V (or right-click → Paste). The files are sent and the Transfers panel shows the progress.
Get a file from the remote computer
- On the remote screen, select the files and press Ctrl+C.
- On your computer, open the folder where you want them.
- Press Ctrl+V. They arrive where you paste them - there is no fixed download folder.
- Transfers with the number of files. Clear removes finished rows; the arrow folds the list away. Drag the header to move the panel.
- A file going out (upload arrow): name, progress, size so far, speed and time left. The × cancels it.
- A file coming in (download arrow) can be paused and resumed, or cancelled.
Good to know
- Nothing is sent when you copy - only when you paste.
- Up to 1,024 files per copy, 8 GB per file and 32 GB in total. Transfers are paced (about 500 KB/s by default) so the picture stays smooth.
- If the connection drops during a transfer and comes back within 45 seconds - even after reopening the window - the transfer continues where it stopped.
- Files you receive are marked as downloaded from the internet, so Windows may show a security warning when you open them.
- Closing the window during a transfer asks first ("Transfer in progress"); disconnecting cancels it and leaves the partly-copied file unusable.
- Pasted images appear in the panel as "Clipboard image". Text up to 5 MB is shared straight away.
Turn it off
- For one session: click Clipboard on the viewer toolbar - it turns red (Clipboard off) and nothing is shared in either direction until you click it again.
- Always: Settings → Clipboard & Files → untick Share the clipboard and allow file transfer. See Clipboard & Files settings.
- The person sharing their screen has the same switches. Both ends must allow it.
Clipboard history and quick paste
- Your last 25 pieces of copied text, newest first. Click one to copy it again, then paste as usual.
- Remove one entry from the history.
- Clear History removes them all.
- Hold Ctrl and right-click anywhere - also over a remote screen - for a menu of recent copies; pick one to paste it there.
Note: Clipboard history keeps text only, encrypted for your Windows account, and never keeps copies that password managers mark as private. Turn it off in Settings → Clipboard & Files.
