This guide takes you from nothing installed to controlling a Windows PC from somewhere else. You need the PC you want to reach (the host) and the device you will use to reach it (the viewer).
1. Install ScreenSharePRO on the host
On the PC you want to reach, download ScreenSharePRO from the downloads page and run the installer. It runs on Windows 10, Windows 11 and Windows Server 2016 or later (64-bit).
2. Find the host's ID and password
Open ScreenSharePRO on the host. The This computer panel shows Your ID and a Password. Use Copy ID and Password to share both with whoever is connecting. The refresh button next to the password generates a new one.
3. Connect from the viewer
You have two options:
- From another Windows PC: install ScreenSharePRO, enter the host's ID and password in the Remote computer panel, and select Connect.
- From a browser, with nothing to install: open the web app in Chrome, Edge or Firefox and connect with the same ID and password.
4. Work on the remote PC
You now see the host's screen live. Whether you can use its keyboard and mouse is up to the person at the host: they can allow or block keyboard and mouse separately, and disconnect you at any time. If the host has more than one monitor, see how to use multiple monitors.
Next time, connect in one click
In the desktop app, tick Remember password for this host and the host is kept in Saved Hosts. If nobody will be at the host when you connect, set up unattended access instead.
